We're headed to California for a little summer holiday as well and I've also managed to avoid doing any summer shopping! It was definitely tough though haha
Love the white skirt that you wore along with the Dragon Diffusion bag - it looks like it's linen?
Also regarding aging - gray hairs don't bother me as much because I've have grays since my teens due to genetics. However, it's always surprising to see tiny wrinkles pop up over the years. I remind myself that aging is a privilege, not everyone gets the chance to get older. Love the approach you're taking too!
I definitely think being under the weather contributed to the no shopping 😅 It’s hard not to when you love clothes. New places feel like an opportunity for new ways of self expression, but I’m happy with how it worked out. Where in California are you going?
Yes, it’s linen - also Aritzia! I wore it all over Italy last summer.
And it’s so true, it is a privilege, and keeping that front and centre in my brain and being reminded helps.
Enjoy your holiday, it sounds dreamy! I bought the Santa croc but sent it back as I realised now I’m 35 I can only deal with a cross-body bag… I hate the effort (lol as if it’s effort, but you know what I mean) of having to keep it on my shoulder (I have big arms) but it looks sooo good on you!
I totally hear you about the ageing. I’ve been going grey since I was 19 and have to do my roots every 4 weeks religiously. In lockdown I looked like a badger, and I know I shouldn’t care, but I hated it.
I’ve been getting Botox for 3 years - I held off until I was 32 but again, it just makes me feel better.
Hi Emily! Yes, a shoulder bag isn’t a easy as a cross body and if that’s your jam, I totally get returning it. But thank you, I do love it!
And regarding aging, thanks for sharing your experience. I agree, it’s walking that line between acceptance and doing what makes us feel good. Figuring that out for myself these days ♥️.
Hope to share all about the trip when we get back.
Literally finding where they’re located on our road trip and making sure we make stops. I was “heartbroken” when I saw Clare V store that we couldn’t stop at in SF lol There’s a Doen store in Santa Barbara that I’m definitely going to. :)

Loved Commonwealth and The Women! And I also find how women choose to age really interesting.
Yea, Commonwealth really had my heart!
I love that there are more and more conversations about aging, we need them ♥️
